NEW PHOTOGRAPHS, CLARICE CLIFF'S CAR, WITH ETHEL BARROW 'CROCUS GIRL' AND MYSELF AT THE WHEEL

I have just found some old photograph's taken in Stoke On Trent, I am sitting in Clarice Cliff's car, with ' Crocus Girl ' ETHEL BARROW as my passenger!!

Meeting Ethel was a real highlight, she was such a character, and showed us how she painted Crocus day in and day out, and I bet you never realised that the Crocus design was painted upside down!! Ethel took hold of a cup, turned it upside down and painted the crocus from stalk to bud, upside down!!

To visit our store in Northcote Road from central London is easy and quick. Take an overland train from VICTORIA mainline station to CLAPHAM JUNCTION (approx 5 minutes journey!), turn left out of the station and Debenhams faces you, that's the road that you need to take, and continue walking down past Marks & Spencer, across the main road, and then you are in NORTHCOTE ROAD, and the Antiques Market is situated a brisk 5 minutes walk on the left hand side, just opposite the public Library.
