CLARICE CLIFF, a ‘fresh to the market’ and quite superb Stamford shape tête-à-tête or tea for two service in the “DELICIA POPPY” design.

This set has been in a private collection and has not been seen since it was purchased at the famous Christie’s Clarice Cliff sale on November 12th 1992, (the original auction labels are still attached to the reverse of several components of this winning item).

This early example teaset is back-stamped for December 1932 and is in superb condition, so richly decorated that the bold and bright enamels make a really impactful statement.

The only thing to mention is the small graze to the reverse of the ‘lemon or biscuit’ plate which cannot be seen from the front display.
